How often have you been forwarded a new job opening from a friend asking if you “know of anyone good”?  This is happening more often as leaders with positions to fill turn to trusted, well-respective professional and industry friends, family and vendors to help fill positions in today’s tight hiring environment. Perspectives: Fundamentals of Good Hiring

Costs associated with making a bad hire are considerable.  Put the right person in the right place at the right time and your problems melt away.  You can also quickly put your organization on track towards realizing its strategic objectives.  Doing this well, however, requires building a customized plan and then deliberately executing that plan.  Effective hiring should never be left to chance.  Improve results by designing a series of activities and tools that collect and evaluate job-related information from individuals and can be used to extend an offer of employment.  There are several hallmarks of good hiring plans.  Include…

Manufacturing and the Millennial Generation

Every day for the next 19 years 10,000 Baby Boomers will reach 65, reports Industry Week, and by just 2015 millennials will be nearly 50% of the employees worldwide.
