Currently looking for skilled individuals to fill a direct hire position for an Electronic Technician opening with a company located in New Hope, MN. Interested candidates should have at least 3 years of experience with automated equipment, mechanical skills, and an educational background in electronics.
Electronic Technician Job Description:
- Responsible for set-up, operation and maintenance of equipment as required for the manufacturing process, including Component Prep, Automated Through-hole Insertion, SMT Placement, Ovens, Wave Solder, X-Ray, SMT Rework Station and Wire equipment.
- Ensure all production activities adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Lead initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to streamline operations and drive innovation.
- Assess, from drawings or machine operating manuals, maintenance and repair requirements.
- Contact manufacturer or equipment supplier for assistance on maintenance or operating issues.
- Perform volume production with accuracy and consistency as applicable.
- Perform simple mathematical computations related to production reporting.
- Raise manager awareness in situations with potential to affect productivity and quality.
- Collect data for process improvement as required.
- Support prototype and first production run set-up of all processes.
- SMT and AOI programming, manufacturing instructions with assembly drawings.
- Support and enforce Quality Assurance Policy and follow Work Instructions.
- Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of the production area and the safety and wellbeing of employees in their daily work activities.
- Ensure that established manufacturing processes are followed and that all manufacturing personnel are properly trained.
Electronic Technician Job Requirement:
- 3 years’ previous experience with automated equipment.
- Exceptional mechanical skills are preferred.
- Personal computer skills are preferred.
- Component identification, drawing interpretation, bill of materials and routing understanding are preferred.
- Associate degree in electronic technology
- Troubleshoot circuits to component level.
- SMT soldering skills are a huge plus.
Compensation for Electronic Technician:
The starting salary for the Electronic Technician position is $20 to $26 hourly plus benefits (401k plan, annual profit sharing, health and dental insurance, and PTO).
