Tool Maker – Direct Hire
Brooklyn Park, MN 
Currently looking for a skilled individual to fill a Direct-Hire Tool Maker opening with a company in Brooklyn Park, MN. Interested candidates should have 5+ years of Tool Making experience, including building, revising & maintaining customer-owned molds via machining & assembly.
Tool Maker Job Description:
  • Builds new tools for our customers; interprets drawings to develop build plan
  • Troubleshoot molds in collaboration with process engineers
  • Inspects completed tools for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality
  • Uses tools to build fixtures; creates dies as required to construct new fixtures
  • Repairs and maintains molds and fixtures when needed; disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then cleans and reassembles when repaired
  • Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts
  • Uses CAD software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints
  • Uses CAM software to program CNC machines
  • Operates a variety of manual and automatic machines, such as: Haas Mills and Lathes, Makino EDMs, surface grinders, etc
  • Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently
  • Modifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications
Tool Maker Job Requirement:
  • AAS (2 year) degree in Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent)
  • 5 years of experience building injection molds
  • Ability to operate all measuring and production equipment safely and accurately
  • Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
  • Thorough understanding of metallic properties
  • Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists
  • Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as SolidWorks and MasterCam
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, positive work ethic, able to multitask and work with minimal supervision
The starting salary for the Tool Maker position is $35.00+ hourly DOE.
